What We Do
WELCOME to the DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS.  The DPW is responsible for and is committed to providing municipal services to residents, businesses and visitors in Newport.  Some of these services include snow and ice removal, stormwater drainage, water supply and distribution, sewage collection, vehicle fleet maintenance, maintenance and improvement of roads and public property, and engineering services.  Our Department consists of the Public Works Garage, Highway Division, Water and Sewer Division, Wastewater Treatment Facility and the Cemeteries, Buildings and Grounds Department.

To provide well planned, environmentally sensitive, cost effective infrastructure and services to promote health, personal safety, transportation, and economic growth.
