Parlin Field Airport

Mission Statement:

Building on a heritage of strong volunteerism and country ambiance, the Town of Newport endeavors to maintain Parlin Field as an attractive gateway to the Lake Sunapee region.  Parlin Field is dedicated in its pursuit to provide safe, reliable, high quality, and efficient facilities for light general aviation aircraft, emergency response aircraft, support of small business, and for the enjoyment of aviation and non-aviation individuals alike.

As a general aviation airport, Parlin Field has enjoyed strong community support throughout the years and seeks to continue that beneficial relationship by balancing the needs of the airport with those of the community and through the promotion of aviation education.  Parlin Field is committed to being a good neighbor.

Rick Kloeppel Remembrance by Russ Kelsea

I would like to remember our friend and colleague, Rick Kloeppel, who past away in 2025. Rick was among the best ambassadors for Parlin Field. When I returned to NH some 20 years ago, I was looking for an airport to call home. It could have been Skyhaven, Concord, Laconia, or even Claremont. I was based at Claremont for a short while until I met Rick at a safety conference – somewhere in the State, I don’t remember where. Rick was open, welcoming, and enthusiastic. I was impressed that for a retired airline pilot, he was so well grounded in light airplane flying and small airports. Rick encouraged me to consider Parlin as my home base. He described the unique rural old-time character of the airport and the great community of people to be found there. He was right of course, and I’ve been based here ever since. Rick’s enthusiasm was reflected not only in me, but in the many who based, visited, or flew with him. Such was Rick’s contribution to Parlin Field. I, for one, shall miss him.
