Water Main Hydrant Flushing

Periodically we clean water mains of harmless corrosion and accumulated foreign matter by opening hydrants and allowing the water to escape under high pressure. This flushing action is an important part of our program to maintain high quality water. Although such flushing may produce temporary discoloration, the safety of the water is not affected in any way.
During the time this work is performed IT IS EXPECTED THE ENTIRE SYSTEM WILL BE AFFECTED. The water system may have air and appear cloudy, but this condition will clear up upon completion of the work.
