Road Excavation Notice: Depot Street | July 28-31

Beginning July 28, the Newport Water Department will begin work on Depot Street to replace a failing water service main.
The existing galvanized iron service line has developed a leak, and the shut-off valve needed to complete repairs is no longer functional. Crews will install a new PVC water service line by connecting it to the water main on Main Street. The existing iron pipe will be abandoned in place.
Expected Timeline: July 28–31 (weather and conditions permitting)
What to Expect:
-Open trench excavation within the marked work area (shown below)
-Steel road plates will cover any open trench left overnight
