Sugar River Trail / Recreation Path

  • An 8-10 mile long multi-use trail that starts in Newport, NH near the NCC and continues along an old train bed crossing many bridges including two historic covered bridges and ends at Washington Street (Rt 11 / 103) in Claremont, NH.
  • Parking is available in Newport at the NCC, along Rte 11/103 (in Kelleyville) at the Sugar River Bridge, various locations along Chandlers Mills Rd, and at the end of the trail off Washinton Street in Claremont.
  • The trail is maintained by the New Hampshire Trails Bureau.
