NEW Yoga Offerings at the Library Arts Center
with Brianna Renner – RYT-500, YACEP

The Library Arts Center is pleased to offer classes with instructor Brianna Renner, RYT-500, YACEP, formerly of Namaste Newport/Buttonwood Yoga in Newport.    Initially, classes will be offered on an ongoing basis, and drop-ins are welcome.  While pre-registration is not currently required, it is most certainly appreciated to allow us to plan for classes in this new season.

Based on participation, the Arts Center may need to change the class structure of classes going forward in order to keep classes sustainable for the Arts Center and instructors.  

Gentle Yoga – Mondays, 12:00-12:45pm
All Levels Welcome
Instructor:  Brianna Renner
Location:  Library Arts Center Gallery, 58 N. Main St. Newport (next to the Richards Free Library)
This class is appropriate for all levels of students–from beginner to advanced–looking for a slow, steady, and purposeful, practice. Variations and modifications to all poses will be offered, as well as attention paid to safe body alignment and use of gear / props. Breath work, meditation, gratitude, guided rest, and mindful movement are all offered as part of this practice.

All Levels Yoga – Tuesdays, 8:30-9:30am

This class is designed for any student looking to practice yoga. Movement will be linked with breath (as offered by the Hatha and Kripalu traditions of yoga), as well as focus on alignment, and attention paid to honoring your own organic movement. Students can expect to practice both seated and standing poses as well as focus on balance and breath.

This class is designed for any student looking to practice yoga. Cost:   

$12 per session, for single session or drop-in    

OR   

$40 for a four-class pass

(Class passes may be used for any four yoga classes at the Library Arts Center in 2019).  While pre-registration is not currently required, it is most certainly appreciated to allow us to plan for classes in this new season.

Equipment:   

We recommend that participants bring their own yoga mats, and any other needed equipment.   There are a limited number of mats and blocks available for use from the former Buttonwood Yoga Studio that may also be used free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis.

Liability Waiver: 

All participants will be asked to sign a release of liability at least once annually to be able to participate in yoga at the Library Arts Center. 

Location: 

Classes will take place in the Library Arts Center gallery unless the nature of the current exhibit on display (sculpture, craft exhibit, etc.) makes it impossible to do so.  During these seasons, class will take place at our 15 Main Street Location in Downtown Newport next to Bar Harbor Bank & Trust.
