Drone Notification Zone

The paved runway 18/36 is the main runway. The normal traffic pattern is on the west side of the airport, with left traffic for 36 and right traffic for 18. Aircraft arriving from the east typically enter the traffic pattern on a mid-field crosswind, passing close to Coit Mountain on the east side of the airport. Aircraft arriving from the south may enter left upwind between the airport and Coit Mountain.

The turf runway 12/30 is a secondary seasonal-use runway favored by some light conventional gear aircraft. The traffic pattern is southwest of the runway, with left traffic for 30 and right traffic for 12. Traffic on base typically operates below 600 feet AGL over the high school athletic fields, and turns final within 200 feet AGL over the side of Coit Mountain.

The airport is served by an instrument approach (RNAV-A) approaching from the south aligned with runway 36. The approach has a minimum descent altitude of about 1,100 feet AGL. Expect traffic to either (a) descend below 500 feel AGL north of the radio tower when inbound on approach to land runway 36, or (b) conduct a traffic pattern maneuver to land on either runway 18 or 36.

In all cases, expect manned aircraft and helicopters to be operating below 400 feet AGL within 1 mile of the airport. Part 107 Operators should review and be familiar with Advisory Circular 107-2, and in particular, section 5.8 dealing with operations near airports

Be aware of FAA airspace requirements. Parlin Field is in Class G (uncontrolled) airspace from the surface to 700 feet above ground level, with Class E (controlled) airspace above.
