UAS 14 CFR Part 101

Flying UAS under the Special Rule for Model Aircraft

Public Law 112-95 , Section 336 and 14 CFR Part 101, (recreation) in the vicinity of Parlin Field.

Fly under Special Rule for Model Aircraft.

Be aware of FAA airspace restrictions.

Never fly within 5 miles of Parlin Field without contacting airport managers Heath Marsden (hmarsden@newportnh.gov) or Rick Kloeppel (rkloeppel@newportnh.gov) by email or by phone at (603) 863-1220. Please provide the following information:

  • Geographic location and operating area dimensions
  • Altitude at which the operations will be conducted (not to exceed 400 feet above ground level)
  • Number of drones and operators
  • Time and duration of activity

UAV Airport Zone

Please reference Parlin Field graphics for the 5 mile airport notification zone and 1 mile conflict area. For the safety of all aircraft, we strongly encourage any UAS to remain clear of 1 mile conflict area at any altitude. Be aware that UAS operation within the 1 mile area can be a potential conflict and may be a violation of 14 CFR Part 101.43.
